This policy describes how Runtime plans, researches, writes and reviews its articles. Our goal is simple: publish accurate, useful, independent coverage of practical technology.
Sourcing and verification
We prioritise primary sources — official documentation, standards bodies, regulators, company announcements and original research. We verify names, dates and specific claims before publishing, and we link to sources so readers can check them. When a claim cannot be verified, we either attribute it clearly as a claim or leave it out.
Facts, analysis and opinion
We distinguish confirmed facts from analysis and interpretation. Where an article offers a recommendation or judgement, we make the reasoning visible and separate it from the reporting.
Accuracy over speed
We would rather be right than first. Technology topics change quickly, so practical guides and comparisons carry a “last reviewed” date, and we update them when the underlying facts change.
Independence and disclosure
Runtime is editorially independent. We do not accept payment to alter or shape editorial coverage. If we ever publish sponsored content, it will be clearly labelled “Sponsored” or “Advertisement” and kept separate from editorial articles.
Bylines
Articles are attributed to editorial desks that reflect the area of coverage. We do not attach invented personal credentials, employment histories or awards to our work. See the Editorial Team page for details.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it and note the change. Our Corrections Policy explains how.
